| Living Streets: Fitter for Walking | ![]() |
Fitter for Walking is a project to help residents to createstreets they can be proud of. It's funded by the Big Lottery Fund, along with contributions from local councils in each of our target areas. We all hear a lot about the need to increase the amount of exercise we take, and for busy people the best answer to that can be leaving the car keys at home and walking more as part of their daily routine. But to do that, we need our streets to feel safe, look attractive, and be looked after with people in mind. Often it's simple things that can make a huge difference to how we view our streets - whether clearing up a particularly useful walking route, starting up street parties, or running campaigns to get parents walking the school run. The project has Regional Co-ordinators in post in five regions of the UK, your local officers details are below. She is looking for project ideas, so if you live or work in the West Midlands and have an idea, get in touch! West Midlands
