Community groups
At the heart of the Black Country Living Landscape project is the idea of contributing towards rebuilding communities. The project creates the opportunities and space needed for communities to come together and work in improving the environment within their neighbourhoods. Black Country Living Landscape will achieve this through;
- Creating an Open Spaces forum - there are many local groups promoting and developing greenspace within the Black Country. This forum will bring together these groups to share best practice, ideas and encourage peer support, but will also to look at the opportunities that exist in the spaces among sites and to make natural links between, them;
- Developing community networks - Black Country Living Landscape will support local groups who will be encouraged to communicate and share their experiences, building new networks between different communities;
- Events (celebratory, festivals etc.) - these will promote all of the work that is happening within the Black Country to encourage people to get further involved. They can also be a 'thank you' to those that are already involved and ensure that anyone who would like to get involve is not missed. These events would range from small site-specific events, e.g. promoting the biodiversity to large festivals with many activities and linked themes;
